1) Scope & Relationship to Other Terms
This Policy applies to the Services we control. It does not cover third-party services (e.g., Steam, Discord, storefronts, social networks) even when accessed through our Services; their policies govern their processing. Our Terms of Service (and any game-specific EULA) also apply to your use of the Services.
2) Information We Collect
A. Information you provide to us
Account & contact: email, username/handle, password (or token), age or date of birth (for age gates), profile details, preferences.
Communications & UGC: chat/messages, screenshots, playtest feedback, surveys, support requests.
Transactions/support: limited purchase/entitlement metadata from platforms; we do not receive full payment card numbers.
B. Information collected automatically
Device & usage: IP address, approximate location (from IP), device/OS, language, timestamps, session and crash logs needed to operate and secure the Services.
Gameplay telemetry (minimal): session events required to run accounts, save progress, and provide multiplayer/social features.
We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or A/B-testing SDKs on our Services.
C. Information from third parties (per your choices)
Steam (Valve): when you sign in via Steam, we receive your Steam ID and basic profile the platform shares.
Discord: when you connect Discord, we receive your Discord user ID and basic profile/permissions you grant.
Platform/store entitlements: limited data confirming your ownership/access to game content.
Service provider (Snapser): back-end/multiplayer data processed on our behalf.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data.
3) How We Use Information (Purposes & Legal Bases)
Operate the Services: create/manage accounts; authenticate via Steam/Discord; save progress; enable multiplayer/social features. (Legal basis: contract; legitimate interests)
Safety & integrity: prevent fraud/abuse; protect accounts; investigate service issues. (Legitimate interests; legal obligations)
Communications: service emails, updates, playtest invites, support responses. (Contract; legitimate interests; consent for marketing where required)
Improve & fix: diagnose crashes, improve performance and gameplay using minimal telemetry. (Legitimate interests)
Marketing (opt-in/opt-out): send newsletters and playtest invitations; you can opt out anytime. (Consent / legitimate interests)
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (this will not affect processing already performed). Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and expectations.
4) Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use only essential cookies/technologies needed to run the site (e.g., session/login). We currently do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. Your browser lets you block cookies; some features may not work without them.
We may use Cloudflare for CDN/security (DDoS protection, bot mitigation); Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to provide these services.
5) How We Share Information
We share personal information with:
Service providers / processors: vendors that help operate the Services (e.g., Microsoft Azure hosting, Cloudflare CDN/security, DigitalOcean hosting, Squarespace Email Campaigns for newsletters, Snapser for game back-end). They may process information only under our instructions and appropriate contracts.
Platform partners: Steam and Discord as needed to authenticate you, provide entitlements, or enable integrations—subject to their own terms/policies.
Legal & safety: to comply with law or protect rights, property, or safety (users, the public, or our Services).
Corporate transactions: information may transfer in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal information and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6) Your Choices & Rights
Marketing: unsubscribe via any email footer or email privacy@lowdraglabs.com.
Linked accounts: disconnect Steam/Discord in account/platform settings.
Access / correction / deletion / portability: EEA/UK and certain U.S. state residents can submit requests at privacy@lowdraglabs.com. We will verify your identity and respond within required timeframes.
State opt-outs (CA/CO/CT/VA/UT, etc.): We do not sell/share personal info as defined by these laws. You may still contact us to exercise applicable rights.
Authorized agents (where permitted): may submit requests with proof of authorization.
7) Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to delete it.
8) Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed to provide the Services, for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security, legal compliance), and as required by law. Examples: account data for the life of the account; crash/operational logs for a limited period; support records as needed to resolve issues and meet retention obligations. When no longer needed, we seek to delete or de-identify the data.
9) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring) to protect personal information. No method is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and protect your account credentials.
10) International Transfers
We operate in the United States and may process information in countries that may not provide the same level of protection as your home jurisdiction. For EEA/UK users, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum where applicable) for transfers; you may request more information at privacy@lowdraglabs.com.
11) Automated Decision-Making / Profiling
We do not engage in automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects without human involvement. We may use profiling to detect fraud/cheating or to personalize content; you can object where applicable law provides that right.
12) Third-Party Links & Services
Our Services may link to third-party sites or include third-party features. Their privacy practices govern any information you provide to them.
13) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. We will post the updated version with an effective date. If changes materially affect your rights, we will provide additional notice and, where required, seek consent.
